President David Martin’s Report:
He wrote letter to Bummy expressing thanks for taking the time to meet with us. He is interested in hearing report from Jerry Grigsby and Michelle Hughes regarding CAD convention.  He communicated with lawyer regarding mortgage. He feels that we need to meet with Thai House to discuss the mortgage situation.  August has passed and we have not received a word from them regarding wanting to continue with present mortgage agreement.  Merrill Lynch gave some suggestions as to what we need to add to our present mortgage agreement.  He asks if we need a safety box to protect our deeds, etc.  He informed us that the picnic with DCARA that was scheduled on August 21 has been postponed to a later date. He is hoping the group will be able to find a near future Saturday date to host picnic along with CAD.  He reminded us that there will be a BBQ Tailgate party put on by CSDF Middle School Bengals. Please give your RSVP to Daniel Toby if you are going.

Vice President Jaime Jackerson’s Report:
He reminded us of upcoming Bocce/Picnic on September 26.

Secretary Jerry Grigsby’s Report:
I gave report on CAD convention.  It was a very good convention and I highly encourage everyone to join CAD and attend future CAD conventions to protect our Deaf rights.  Michelle and I attended Bummy’s workshop. Bummy said he could not do a workshop since it does take day and a half to go over many items.  Instead we did a Question and Answer session.  I did asked lot of question. Please read the paper I passed out regarding the meeting.  I will mail out a message to our members to be aware of next general meeting this November which is also an election day.  The message will indicate that bylaw committee made changes to bylaws and ask all members to take the time to look at the list of changes and read bylaws from website.  It will be too costly to mail bylaws to every member.  Apple Hill – one bus service very happy to work with us but before they can give us a price, we need to decide where the pick up will take place, time, etc.  Board agreed that pick up will be at CSDF parking lot and BART.  We do need to ask Dr. Klopping if it is okay to park.

Treasurer Richard Bonheyo’s Report:
He passed out three months worth of finance reports.  He let us know our investments are improving but not the same as it was before economy went south.  See attached for finance reports.  Jerry Grigsby moved that Treasurer’s finance reports be accepted. Pass

Trustee’s Report:
Buddy Singleton reminded that its trustee’s job to investigate and make sure board is spending wisely.  He will ask trustee committee to meet soon and go over 2009 budget as well as to prepare for year 2010 budget and to provide feedback

Membership Director Judy Ford’s Report:
She said we now have 257 members.  The numbers are declining due to not many members renewing their membership fee.  She asked if the two of the Stingers players from out of state should pay membership fee.  Board Hughes read our MOU with the Stingers and indicated all must pay, therefore the two players from out of state must pay.

Board Michelle Hughes’s Report:
She agreed with Jerry that CAD convention was very good and encouraged all of us to go to the next convention.  She already made plans to attend the next convention in Fremont (2011).  She explained why CAD is very important to protect our Deaf rights – for example, in the past there was a bill to deny Deaf having driving privileges.  CAD fought and was able to help defeat the bill.  She agreed with Jerry that Bummy Q and A was not enough.  Regarding youth program, she will let Brenda present group’s meeting.

Board Brenda Call’s Report:
She went over Youth Program meeting notes.  She chaired the committee of Judy Ford and Michelle Hughes. They decided that they will do a survey to see if there is enough interest in creating Youth Program under SFCD.  They would like to start small to expose kids to Deaf clubs. Some kids want to be a member of SFCD but could not join due to age restriction.  They plan to survey kids from ages of 11 – 17.  She will survey parents too as well as to ask them to pitch in and help run Youth Program by using their past experiences.  We can teach parliamentary rules, how to run meetings, etc.  She hopes to bring back old time events such as captioned movie on a weekend.  She said the main thing is keep it basic and to welcome all Deaf children and codas. Board asked the group to please let board review the survey before emailing/mail out.  She hopes to have answers from the survey by November for General Meeting and hopefully start the program next year.

Board LeRoy Boren, Jr’s given by Michelle Hughes Report:
He apologizes for not being able to teach JOOMLA since the materials he received is not good for a class type of environment.  He feels it is more of an individual type of course.  He will try to convert course to power point and see if he can teach a class instead of individual. He hopes to have it ready by February. He let us know that DCARA’s event, Oktoberfest, will provide us a booth.  He said instead of just simply promote our club; we will help serve beer and then tell all about our club. He said we will need two people to work the booth starting at 3:30. Michelle Hughes hoped that those who are going will take turns running the booth.  She suggested SFCD to donate a gift card and encouraged each one of us to donate our time of talent, dinner, etc to DCARA for auction.

Event Director Tom Murillo’s Report:
Regarding Stingers not wearing proper SFCD uniforms, he explained that the Stingers team wore a purple shirt with the word “San Francisco” in front.  He said apparently Stingers lost uniforms they used in the past.  He agrees that Stingers must show our logo on the uniform and they did violate MOU agreement.  Jerry Grigsby asked what happened to the old uniforms. We paid over $1,000 for two sets of uniforms. Michelle Hughes read the MOU and said Stingers did violate our MOU agreement.  She said MOU agreement shows that our logo must show up on all shirts, promotions, etc.
