I. Rules for all Three Types of Requests (Donations, Sponsorships, & Events):
a) Proposals submitted by requestors can only be submitted at the scheduled SFCD board meetings during the months of January and July. With Board’s judgments on a case by case basis.
b) Requestors must be members of SFCD for at least one year and are in good standing before submitting their proposals. They cannot ask other SFCD members to submit proposal on their behalf.
c) Requestors must be present at the meeting to submit and present their proposals. They will answer all questions regarding their proposals.
d) Requestors for sponsorships or events must be able to provide an itemized list along with the estimated costs. The board will determine the final amount of grants. They must provide completed financial report with receipts attached within 60 days after the date of the event to the Event Director. The Event Director will then report at the next board meeting for reason of making sure that the funds are spent properly. Failure to do so may affect future requests from the same organization.
e) If SFCD approves a proposal to fund its organization, then the organization must provide benefits for SFCD members to help promote the awareness of the San Francisco Club of the Deaf for others (i.e. offer discount, promote our club, recruit new members) or participate in one of the SFCD events.
f) The board reserves the right to make the final decision.
II. Additional Rules on Types of Requests:
a) Donations and Sponsorships Request: Each organization is allowed to submit one proposal per year.
b) Events Request: SFCD members may host events (with board’s approval) at any time (i.e. bocce, Luncheon, bowling tournament, poker tournament, etc).
